Underwear
How times have changed! Whereas before men’s underwear selection is very limited, there are now many styles of briefs and boxers that can be choose from. The selection is almost as wide as that for women since men have now also given enough attention to their underclothing. Read on to learn the correct ideas on what to wear underneath.

Underwear
One of the big innovations to happen to men’s underwear over the years has been the fabrics used in their manufacture. All of the styles mentioned here can be easily found in cotton, polyester or silk blends. The days of wool long johns are definitely long gone and is not coming back anytime soon!
Briefs
Men’s briefs are marked by a very prominent wide elastic waistband that sits at the waist, a Y-shaped front fly, about four inches of fabric that covers everything from the waist to the upper thighs and a full coverage of the butt, of course.
Mid-rise briefs are the same in every way, but they encircle some 2 inches below the waistline at the belly button. Low-rise briefs rest about some 3 inches below the waist. Both of these styles are great with low-rise jeans. These are intended to show some skin.

All briefs should provide great support for the genitals. They are a solid choice for jobs that require sitting down all day (they are less likely to ride up than the other types of underwear). They are ideal for most heavy physical activities as well.
Most full-cut briefs are usually white cotton and relatively inexpensive. Low-rise and mid-rise cuts can be found in many different colors and better fabrics such as silk since they serve as a fashion statement on some occasions. This is applicable to some youngsters who like to make a statement.
Boxers
Boxer shorts are the so-called “classic” men’s underwear. Boxers are the loosest — and unarguably the most comfortable — of all underwear styles. The shorts have straight-cut leg openings and cover part of the thighs and the entire butt; the lengths can vary anywhere from eight to 16 inches. And last but certainly not least, boxers almost always have a working front fly.

Tapered boxers are similar in nearly every way to their traditional cousins, with the exception that the leg openings are smaller and designed to fit to the thighs, with side vents providing some degree of freedom of movement. Fly fronts are not standard on tapered boxers but a front cup panel provides some minimal support.
Boxers work best under suits or loose-fitting pants like khakis. Surprisingly, boxers are the only type of underwear that can be tailored. They do have a tendency to bunch up however, and they offer precious little genital support. Boxers are a poor choice for some physical activities as they can contribute to hernias.
The good news, however, is that boxers are widely known for their excellent patterns and design versatility. Plaids, solids and themed styles are all available in fabrics like cotton and wool. The choice is yours and you can order one from your favorite haberdasher. Make sure it suits you and a total fit.
